Ultimate Insider Madden Sim League Preview

AFC East

1. New England Patriots[15-1]
GM DC has been one of the more active GMs this off-season and has brought many new faces to the team. On offense, Tom Brady’s new receivers include former division rivals Jerricho Cotchery, Lavrenues Coles, and Ted Ginn Jr. while the insanely strong Benjamin Watson remains at TE. The offensive line remains solid, especially on the left side, anchored by Matt Light and Logan Mankins. Somewhat of a worry is the situation at tailback where the team has traded Lawrence Maroney and Reggie Bush, which leaves the somewhat injury prone duo of Dulymus McAllister and Chester Taylor. On the other side of the ball, the lowest rated starter is an 88. The secondary is arguably the best in the league as may the d-line as well. The weakness seems to be in the LB corps which may lack some speed and is aging, but Adalius Thomas is still a stud.

2. New York Jets[9-7]
The Jets GM Frenchy has made one blockbuster move this offseason, acquiring Randy Moss. Randy finally teams up with his old buddy from Marshall, Chad Pennington. This chemistry should give the Jets a potent passing attack. The run game also looks solid with running back Thomas Jones, and a good o-line led by Nick Mangold and D’Brickashaw Ferguson. On the other side of the ball, the defensive line looks weak. Underachieving nose tackle Dewayne Robertson doesn’t have the speed to make plays, and ends Shaun Ellis and Kimo Von Oelhoffen have both lost a step. The linebacking corps is solid but the secondary will feel the loss of Erik Coleman.

3. Buffalo Bills[7-9]
The Bills under GM TiTaN10ViNcE have made some interesting moves this offseason trading away some great young talent from some mediocre middle of the road players, but this strategy seems to have helped the team. Gone are Marshawn Lynch and Lee Evans and in have come Cadillac Williams and Donte Stallworth. JP Losman still remains a question at quarterback and the offensive line looks a little shaky. On defense, virtually all of the young talent is gone, such as Poz, Donte Whitner, Ko Simpson, and Ashton Youbouty. Taking their places are Kendrell Bell, Leon Hall, Kevin Kaesviharn and others. This should be a very interesting season for the Bills.

4. Miami Dolphins[6-10]
Ever since their second trade of the year, GM Midnitemike has signaled that this would be a rebuilding year for the Phins. The team has already traded Joey Porter and reigning defensive player of the year Jason Taylor away in return for young talent and picks. The team is also aggressively shopping both quarterback Trent Green and middle linebacker Zach Thomas. The team looks pretty solid with Trent Green, Ronnie Brown, and Chris Chambers leading the offense, but the offensive line seems to be a work in progress with rookie Samson Satele starting at center. The defense is decent but is centered around young studs like Jon Beason, Brandon Meriweather, and Jason Allen.
