Phins Ship Ginn to Division Rival

Before playing a single game in a Dolphins uniform, the Dolphins shipped multifaceted WR Ted Ginn Jr. up north to New England. In return, the Dolphins received an intriguing young safety prospect in Brandon Meriweather, dubbed by most as the second coming of Ed Reed. They also received WR Chad Jackson and WR Jabar Gaffney, both from UF to improve their WR corps, which dramatically drops off behind Chris Chambers. FS Renaldo Hill was also included in the deal.

Defense Gets Younger in Blockbuster Deal

In an effort to get younger on defense, the Dolphins shipped Jason Taylor and Joey Porter to Carolina in return for two young players and a bevy of picks. Porter and Taylor hope to bolster the Carolina defense in the quest for a Super Bowl as Sports Illustrated seems to lable them a contender every year. While Jon Beason and Charles Johnson hope to be mainstays of the Dolphin defense for years to come. As a result of this trade, the Dolphins now have three first round selections.
